These romantic things to do at Disney World cover the best experiences, restaurants & rides for you and your significant other.
Now, we all know that Walt Disney World isn’t just for children but how can you make the most out of your experience with your partner? We are sharing the most romantic things to do at Disney World so you can have the perfect couple’s trip.
Romantic Things to do at Disney World

1. The fireworks
I LOVE watching the fireworks, whether it is from Magic Kingdom’s Main street, from a hotel or resort or even cuddled up on the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we always find a place to watch the fireworks whilst at Disney World.
If you are looking to splurge, you could opt for a fireworks cruise. It is expensive but you can reserve your own boat and view fireworks at Magic Kingdom or Epcot, depending on your preference. You can even choose a premium option to include dining on the boat.
You can catch the fireworks from all over the area and this can be one of the best free things to in Disney World if you opt for views from nearby parks and hotels.
2. Wine tasting around the ‘world’
Head to Epcot’s World Showcase and enjoy the wine and beer on offer in each country alongside some small plates of your favourite cuisine. It is understated but this makes for a wonderful romantic stroll with your other half, especially as the sun begins to set and it begins to get cooler.
3. A horse-Drawn Carriage ride
Head over to Port Orleans Resort or Disney’s Fort Wilderness resort and enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the beautiful scenery and along the charming pathways of the resorts.
You can reserve your ride at (407) 939 – 7529, rides are 25 minutes and can fit up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children. Each horse-drawn carriage ride costs $55.
4. Watch a show
Whether it is a Disney performance inside the park or a full Cirque du Soleil show in Downtown Disney, surprise your partner with a trip to a performance. Cirque tickets can be booked in advance and start at $79, typically lasting around an hour and a half, with two performances each evening.
Currently the best shows at Walt Disney World are:
- Festival of the Lion King (Animal Kingdom)
A Broadway-style celebration of The Lion King with live singers, acrobats, dancers, and puppetry. It’s vibrant, high-energy, and full of audience participation.
- Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! (Animal Kingdom)
A musical retelling of Finding Nemo with incredible puppetry, colorful sets, and catchy songs. It’s immersive and a must-see for families.
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (Hollywood Studios)
A live action stunt show with daring fights, explosions, and behind-the-scenes movie magic based on Indiana Jones. Great for thrill-seekers and movie buffs.
- Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage (Hollywood Studios)
A condensed Broadway-style musical version of Beauty and the Beast. Classic Disney romance brought to life with beautiful costumes and beloved songs.
- Fantasmic! (Hollywood Studios)
A nighttime spectacular combining water projections, fireworks, live actors, and classic Disney villains. Mickey battles nightmares in a show full of magic and drama.
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic (Magic Kingdom)
A 3D musical adventure through famous Disney songs and scenes, led by Donald Duck’s antics. Funny, family-friendly, and packed with nostalgia.
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (Magic Kingdom)
A comedy show where animated characters interact with the audience in real time. Jokes are fresh, family-friendly, and often improvised.
- Enchanted Tiki Room (Magic Kingdom)
A classic Disney animatronic show with singing birds, flowers, and tiki gods. Quirky, retro fun with lots of catchy tunes.
- Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom)
An impressive animatronic show that brings all U.S. presidents together to tell the story of American history. Educational and inspiring.
- Voices of Liberty (EPCOT)
An a cappella group performing patriotic and folk songs inside the American Adventure pavilion. The harmonies are stunning, and the setting amplifies the sound beautifully.
- American Adventure (EPCOT)
A theatrical presentation with animatronics and film sequences telling the story of America’s history. Moving, detailed, and uniquely Disney.
- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration (Hollywood Studios)
A mix of storytelling, comedy, and live singing where the audience joins in on Frozen’s biggest hits. Fun for kids and surprisingly entertaining for adults too.
5. Atlantic Dance Hall
For those club-goers, the lively nightclub on Disney’s Boardwalk opens its doors at 9 pm and offers fairly good music plus requests to the DJ can be made.
6. Watch a Disney classic
Every night, you can snuggle up with your loved one and a blanket and watch a Disney classic at any of the Disney resorts (weather permitting). Resorts offer outdoor movie screens to enjoy for free once the sun has set.
Many resorts include comfortable seating areas and a nearby quick-service restaurant for those looking for a snack whilst they cuddle up and enjoy the movie.
7. A spa day
Spa days aren’t for everyone but if you both love a good massage, Disney is the place for you. There are spas all over Orlando but nothing beats the Senses Spa in Disney’s Grand Floridian.
You can get all types of massages, facials, body wraps and luxurious experiences here so browse their website and plan a romantic spa day. If a full day isn’t for you, why not enjoy a hot tub together at one of the Disney resorts; most pool areas will have a few Jacuzzi’s nearby and these are often empty once the sun has set.

8. Buy matching ears
What isn’t cuter than getting yourself a matching pair of ears! I will be honest, I don’t think my husband would wear ears long enough to take a picture but for those with partners that don’t mind, get yourself a pair of matching ears for your trip to the park.
9. Rent a boat or Kayak
This has to be our favourite romantic thing to do at Disney World. Many of the lakeside Disney resorts offer canoes, kayaks or boat rentals (as do many of the non-Disney resorts and hotels in Orlando). Spending an hour or two on the lake just the two of you
Relax, chat and enjoy the waters together in the sunshine.

10. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
When the sun goes down, the twinkling lights come alive along the Disney boardwalk. The restaurants and food stands offer great food at decent prices and the wooden planks at to the romantic atmosphere. There are entertainers on the street as well as live music playing whilst the Epcot fireworks show can also be seen from here too. Head to the Boardwalk Bakery for some sweet treats to end your evening.

11. Get a romantic ride at Disney World
Yes, these parks are created to be magical places for children but they can be just as special for adults too. Jump of the Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride with your partner for a cuddle in the sky, go on safari at Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom, race together along the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom or compete to be the best shooter on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger.
We personally love the Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios. Perhaps avoid the scariest rides at Disney World if it is a new relationship!

12. Enjoy the parades
I love watching the parades and it is a great opportunity for you to find a spot and watch the celebrations together.
At Magic Kingdom, the daily Festival of Fantasy Parade brings beloved characters like Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel, and Maleficent (in her dragon form) to life with stunning floats and lively performances.
During the fall, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade takes over as part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, featuring villains, the Headless Horseman, and characters in Halloween costumes.
In the holiday season, the park transforms with the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, a festive spectacle with toy soldiers, reindeer, and Santa Claus himself.
While parades are less common in other parks, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios focus on seasonal cavalcades and special event entertainment, ensuring that no matter when you visit, there’s always a chance to catch a bit of Disney magic marching down the streets.

13. Drive on water
Head to Disney Springs, jump in an amphicar and drive on the lake. You can snuggle in the back seat whilst your driver takes you around the lake. Tours can be booked from 10 am to 10 pm and cost $125 for up to three people. Make sure you reserve your slow in advance.
Alternatively, you can book The Venezia; an Italian styled water taxi which offers a guided tour of Disney Springs complete with chocolate-covered strawberries and a champagne toast.
13. Wishes Dessert Party
What isn’t there to love about a dessert party?! Head over to Magic Kingdom and enjoy a romantic firework display and dessert party, held on the Tomorrowland Terrace. You can enjoy an array of sweet treats along with lemonades and sparkling cider, as well as VIP seating for the fireworks.
14. RunDisney
I felt like this should be mentioned after telling you to stuff your face at a dessert party. But, for those that love to challenge yourself and love a run, why not sign up for RunDisney. You don’t have to be an athlete to take part, many participants enjoy dressing up and walking the route, taking in the character meet and greets on the way.

15. Victoria & Albert’s
Based in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this is a high end 7- 10-course restaurant that comes with your own butler and maid. Save this one for those very special occasions!

16. Narcoossee’s
Another Grand Floridian restaurant, Narcoossee’s is a fine dining restaurant with a lot of seafood and steak to offer. It also offers panoramic views of the lagoon, giving you a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

17. San Angel Inn
Our next romantic things to do in Disney World is this gorgeous restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot is a favourite experience of mine. Enjoy your meal under the faux twinkling stars in a pyramid, eat delicious Mexican food and not worry about it costing a fortune. Great for couples on a budget.

18. California Grill
This favourite at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (one of the best Disney hotels for adults) offers a fantastic view of the fireworks in Magic Kingdom and is known for its fantastic flavours of the Pacific Coast. You can also have a Sunday brunch feast here whilst enjoying views of the nearby parks.
19. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
This Magic Kingdom restaurant is a fantastic place to share a spaghetti and meatball dinner at this Italian bistro modelled after the quaint classic from Lady and the Tramp. Expect dim lighting, delicious food and a cozy atmosphere whilst you enjoy your date night.
20. Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Head to Mickey’s Kitchen Sink on Main Street and share a Kitchen Sink Sundae (or one of the many other delicious sundaes they have on offer).

21. Cinderella’s Royal Table
Of course, the Royal table was going to be included in this romantic restaurants section. This exclusive restaurant is perfect for special occasions and special desserts or flower deliveries can be arranged.

Very cool!
This is awesome! Since we are always dragging the kids around, it is the least romantic place ever to us. We will have to spend a day there alone.
That amphicar looks so cool! Thanks for sharing!
This is absolutely perfect! I went to Disney for New Year’s and even though it was very crowded, I would say between the fireworks, Christmas display and shows, it’s so romantic!
